Laudale’s position on the edge of the scenic Loch Sunart make it ideal for those wanting to explore the  breathtaking scenery of the west coast of Scotland by water. The Sound of Mull and the Western Isles offer fantastic sailing, stunning views and the chance to glimpse seals, otters, dolphins, basking sharks and minke whales with the remote hills providing habitat for a wealth of birds including Sea Eagles, Golden Eagles and Peregrine Falcons.

Closer to home, the Loch and the rocky coast line lend themselves to exploration by kayak and canoe, with plenty of wildlife to spot as you paddle. Guided kayaking and canoeing tours, with all the equipment provided can be arranged to help you get the best from the area.

If you’d prefer something less strenuous Laudale has a small launch that is available for hire, perfect for taking a trip to the very pretty Tobermory for lunch.

Mackerel fishing is available in Loch Sunart and an inland loch, adjacent to the House is available for trout fishing,  lessons are available  to novices of all ages!  Scotland offers some of the best sea fishing available and the waters close to Laudale are testament to this, with boats able to enjoy giant Skate fishing, with some specimens weighing in at over 200 lbs. Hake, Lesser Spotted Dogfish , Spurdog and Thornback have also been caught at specimen and record weights  in the waters off the West Coast of Scotland.
